AdPerk.com, a San Francisco-based video advertising and micro-payment solution that we have worked on for 6 months finally was launched by Barry Soicher and Kevin Goodman. Congrats to the AdPerk team!
AdPerk has partnered with Dwell magazine, where AdPerk users will get free Dwell magazine issues for watching video ads.
AdPerk has an advanced analytics/reporting functionality, video management process, as well as an intuitive flash-based user-facing UI. The Flash player asks the user to confirm the fact that they viewed the video by entering some captcha code, this way, the advertisers are guaranteed that the user was paying attention. Advertisers only pay for these confirmed views, which makes it different from how pre and post-roll video advertising used to work. Also, AdPerk is choice-based, users can pick and choose which ads they would like to view.
The interaction design was done by us, while the UI design was done by Michael Rylander from Witt|Rylander. OutCubator team produced the entire system from scratch, from initial design to conception.
